At STJ we pride ourselves on being a family run company with high levels of safety and workmanship. We strive to offer a user friendly service in door manufacture, with a flexible outlook towards time scales to meet client needs and the completion of every project we become involved in on time.
At our rural base and workshops, we have all the tools and equipment necessary to enable us to produce high quality joinery items, from the day to day MDF pipe encasement’s to bespoke internal 1 & 2 hour fire screens. Bespoke reception desks or even oak wall panelling, not to mention a vast range of doorsets. All of our joinery items are, wherever possible, made away from site in our workshops as we feel this is a better way to work in regards to greater levels of safety, tooling and a great way to reduce site waste, noise and dust.
We directly employ our Operatives & Joiners wherever possible and we currently have a total workforce including office staff of c20 personnel. When needed we are happy to use sub contract joiners but only when we are certain that they fit our company ideals and standards, and have been authorized to join our approved contractor’s scheme. If we use sub contract joiners or site operatives we aim to get this extra workforce from around the site localities to assist the local environment. Our aim is to assist new joiners wherever possible and we currently have apprentices within our team.
Health & Safety is very important to our company, our health and safety programs are all up to date with method statements and risk assessments specific to individual sites/projects. With this comes the assurance our health and safety regarding your site is as up to date as possible and matches the needs exactly. We also employ an independent representative to oversee our health and safety practices.
STJ are experienced in site joinery installation works having worked with many principle contractors (both large and small) and private clients too. Works have seen installation into brand new builds but also into existing buildings undergoing refurbishment works. Our team of joiners are experienced in dealing with many aspects that may arise from site environments and we work hard and with the client to ensure we deliver a successful and proud completed project.
A large proportion of installation works is by way of Fire Doorset Installation. For a number of years now we have been part of the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme for both Fire Door Installation and Maintenance. This allows us to carry out extensive fire door surveys to ensure fire doors are fully compliant for peace of mind, knowing they will perform in the event of a fire. We have worked within many sectors including Healthcare, Education, Retail, Commercial, Industrial and private. Some of which have been within areas of local restrictions and guidelines.
Healthcare is a growing sector for STJ. We have worked closely with a number of NHS Trusts and private clients to deliver some excellent projects across the country in both General Healthcare and Mental Healthcare. Our teams are experienced with complex requirements often seen in these environments and we are more than used to the security and performance required from both our team of joiners and the items they are installing.
We are able to offer our services nationally having worked in Great Yarmouth, Nottingham, Wrexham, Sheffield, Hull, Edinburgh to name but a few.
Certifying fire doorsets under our BM Trada Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacture accreditation, we are able to manufacture doorsets of a vast range including the more simple non-fire rated through to the complex high security doorsets for environments such as Mental Health Seclusion Suites.
Doorsets are a complex item in relation to their design and functions, however, we do all we can to ensure we quickly fully understand your project needs and offer forward suitable elements within the design, ensuring we do not compromise any fire performance abilities.
Anti-Barricade, Lockbacks, Steel Lined, Anti-Ligature, are all elements we are used to working with when the need is present.
There are a range of finishes available when it comes to door manufacture including; Painted, Lacquered Veneer, Laminate and PVC. Each of these offer a further choice of colours and textures etc.
STJ have worked on several Mental Health Facility projects for Balfouor Beatty, with their primary focus being on the supply and fix of joinery items. STJ understands the very specific detailing and requirements of working within this sector. Their commitment both to our projects and our clients; their eye for quality and for delivery on time of complex joinery items has been second to none.
