Main Corridor Fire Door upgrade works

As Principle Contractor, we were called in by BCUHB to manufacture and install replacement fire doors within the ground floor and first floor at Wrexham Maelor Hospital main corridors.

We were able to retain the timber door and side screen framing as this was confirmed to be of ample density and sectional dimensions for the required fire rating.

Side screen glazing was replaced with Pyrodur fire rated glass.

Door leafs were manufactured and replaced using solid cross laminated timber cores, with an in-house paint top coat applied to avoid additional work on site, colour matched to other doors in Wrexham Maelor Hospital. 

Yeoman shield half height face protection in similar door colour was applied to both sides of every door leaf and contrasting Yeoman shield door edge guards were fitted to both edges of every door leaf to provide protection against bed and trolley damage etc.

New electro-hold open floor springs were supplied and installed to certain locations and regular floor springs were supplied and installed to locations which also received replacement détentes.

Ironmongery was supplied and installed as new, to include bi-lingual signage etc.
